When we first met RJ, he was working a steady job at National Grid making $40 an hour and living what most would call a secure life. But he had a bigger dream. During the pandemic, he started a small side hustle installing TVs and home systems, working late nights and weekends until he realized it could become something more. We talked through the numbers, built a plan, and within 90 days, he made the leap, leaving the comfort of a paycheck and benefits to chase his own vision. We helped him register his LLC, organize his books, and transition from W-2 employee to full-time entrepreneur. Since officially launching in 2020, RJ Installation & Design has grown revenue nearly 50% from 2020 to 2025, while expanding service lines, staff, and infrastructure. Over that same period, net income rose as well, even as the business reinvested heavily in tools, vehicles, and marketing.
Total assets have increased by 258%, reflecting strong reinvestment and improved cash management. He’s now running a large operation with stable profit margins above 14%, up from 12% at launch… proof that structure and discipline can scale a passion project into a thriving business!
Personal & Professional Milestones
Beyond the business growth, this journey has been deeply personal. RJ turned a pandemic side hustle into a legacy. His wife joined the business part-time, and together they built a company strong enough for her to stay home with their two young children. He’s invested back into his family, his community, and his team—employees who’ve been with him since 2021 and continue to grow alongside him.
